IKAL Independent Art

Cristian Pineda is a multidisciplinary artist, born in Juchitan de Zaragoza, Oaxaca, Mexico. He currently lives in Merida, Yucatan, and works between Mexico and Belgium. He works in blocks of series on a specific topic or idea, around which he obsessively focuses for months or even years. There is an evident faithfulness towards the use of paper throughout his series that for him translates into a means to connect with the primitive - a search for abstraction that aims to simplify figures reaching out towards his most essential elements.
