IKAL Independent Art

Colombian artist based in Brussels since 2002. She works with oil painting, drawing and acrylics. She started painting with the indigenous community of La Sierra Nevada in Santa Marta, Colombia before moving to a formal education at the Superior Academy of Arts in Bogota and at L’Ecole nationale des arts visuels La Cambre. Her most recent series "Atmósferas" brings us a palette full of colors and abstract landscapes. As Silvia Acierno describes: “Atmósferas by Claudia Castillo are horizons, boundaries, backgrounds made of brush strokes, colour and light, kind of come and go between the abstract and the concrete. Claudia gives us the colour as if she had already worked with time, space”.
